VIDEO | Mossman set to shine with new lighting installation
STREET UPGRADES
It's Mossman’s turn to shine with new decorative lighting being installed in the iconic raintrees, located at the northern edge of town.
Those passing under the trees will be treated to the decorative display featuring 1.36km of lighting wrapped around 11 trees.

Douglas Shire Councillor and Mossman business owner, Peter McKeown, said the lights added a nice touch to the northern edge of town.
“I saw the lights being tested in two trees last Friday night and they were fantastic,” he said.
“There were a lot of people passing who stopped and took photos. It will be very impressive once complete.”
A council spokesman said the project was conceived from the success of the ‘Light Up Port’ lighting on Macrossan Street.
“As well as being a spectacle for residents, the lighting creates a unique night-time atmosphere and increases the opportunity to hold evening events in Mossman,” the spokesperson said.
The lights are scheduled to be switched on permanently later this month by Local electrical contractor, Bellero’s Electrical Services.
Douglas Shire Council engaged lighting consultant Decorative Lighting and Display to help complete the project.
