CRIME
A 44-year-old Port Douglas man has been charged with 52 drug-related offences, following a lengthy police investigation into drug supply in the Port Douglas area.
Earlier this month Port Douglas officers executed several search warrants in the local area including one at a Craven Close residence.
Queensland Police said officers allegedly located a significant number of specifically itemized bags of cannabis along with drug utensils and cash.
“Over ensuing weeks police conducted further inquiries which resulted in them being charged with a total of 52 offences including one count each of possessing a dangerous drug, trafficking a dangerous drug, possessing a drug utensil, possessing things used in commission of a crime, possessing property suspected of being proceeds of a drug offence and 47 counts of supplying a dangerous drug,” a police spokesperson said.
Police will allege the man was carrying out the unlawful business of trafficking a dangerous drug for an extended period.
The man is scheduled to appear at Mossman Magistrates Court on 30 September.
