The Clink Theatre takes the show online

The Clink Theatre in Port Douglas is set to wow audiences with its first digital production, Cram it Online 2020.
Thanks to COVID the theatre is unable to welcome audiences in at present, so the decision was made to take the theatre to the people.
In the past, Cram it on Broadway has been a regular calendar event for the theatre, with host Shaun Cram bringing together local artists to perform Broadway songs.
This year with a lot of organising and a bit of enthusiasm Cram it Online 2020 was created.
The show hosted by Shaun Cram has over twenty local artists taking to the stage to perform individual songs from some of the great Broadway shows.
There will also be a special guest appearance by the talented Rhonda Burchmore who gave up her time to send a special message and perform a song for the show.
Douglas Theatre Arts Group President, Michael Kerr, said he was thrilled to finally have local artists doing what they enjoy so much.
“It has been so hard seeing the theatre sitting there empty when we had so many great productions planned for this year,” he said.
“Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 and the size of the theatre, we are very restricted in what we will be able to achieve at the premises.
“The bills keep coming though, so the committee really hopes that our local supporters will get behind these video productions until we can get the theatre operational again," Mr Kerr said.
Tickets for Cram it Online 2020 are $25 which will be shared between the maintenance of our building and the Jack Heywood memorial fund that is operated by the Douglas Theatre Arts Group.
This fund assists young artists in achieving their goals.
The production will be available to stream or download on the Clink Theatre website from 7:00pm on Saturday 25 July and the Clink hopes that locals will get behind them and support the theatre by watching the show at home.
