New Port Douglas residential development goes on sale

NEW DEVELOPMENT

Port Douglas will soon grow with a new residential development set to hit the market in just weeks.

Developers, Port Douglas Land Developments Ltd, plan to build the ‘New Port Estate’ on 180 acres of land south of Craigile, bordered by the planned Wangetti trail to the east, the Mowbray River to the south and the Captain Cook Highway to the west.

The estate will feature expansive parks and family-friendly recreational spaces, a complimentary commercial hub, senior living options, and good-sized affordable allotments to enable Port Douglas to grow in a measured and sustainable way.

Port Douglas Land Developments spokesperson, Ernest Duval, said he is proud to be part of the project which has been many years in the making.

“It represents a unique opportunity to show how sustainable growth can occur whilst still retaining the special character of the Port Douglas community,” he said.

“We have a high percentage of natural open parklands to enhance the residential environment which we are sure will have great appeal to families and residents.

“We see this as a great opportunity for the Port Douglas greater region with hundreds of jobs to be created over the next few years.”

Real estate agents Raine & Horne Port Douglas are now taking expressions of interest for the development with blocks expected to go on sale in a matter of weeks.

Raine & Horne Port Douglas Director, David Cotton, said it is an exciting time for Port Douglas.

“We have seen a lack of land available in the area and this will give many family’s young and old an opportunity to purchase a block to build their dream home,” he said.

“With the government grants available, this will give families a great helping hand to see those dreams become reality.”

Its expected the first stage will have 32 allotments with land sizes varying from 600m2 to over 700m2 and prices expected to start from the low $200,000’s.
