Nineteen new Aussies, who call the Douglas Shire home, were granted their citizenships in a ceremony at the Mossman Shire Hall yesterday.
Douglas Shire Mayor Michael Kerr officially welcomed the group in what was the first live Citizenship Ceremony held since COVID-19.
The diverse range of new Aussies hailed from various countries including Northern Ireland, Cook Islands, Italy, United Kingdom, South Korea, Madagascar, France, Bangladesh, Japan and Scotland.
New citizens received a certificate and native plant from the Mossman Nursery.
