The Croc was spotted by lifeguards just after 9:30 this morning and was quickly monitored via the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Drone as it passed along the beach heading south towards the Mowbray River.
The water was promptly evacuated with three people swimming at the time.
The beach was closed for four hours after the sighting with lifeguards continuing to monitor the beach throughout the day, reopening the beach this afternoon.
This is the first time a crocodile has been spotted along the popular beach since July 2019, which was the only sighting at this location for that year.
