Too busy for a little self-pamper? The Hair Shop and Beauty @ The Hair Shop have the perfect solution for you, offering a one-stop-shop to get all your hair and beauty needs sorted at the same time, right here in Port Douglas.

The Hair Shop and Beauty @ The Hair Shop has been a long-standing icon of Port Douglas for over 20 years and recently, owner, Michelle Daly, made the big move from Wharf Street to a brand-new salon in the heart of town on Grant Street.

Experienced beautician, Katie Hatfield, jumped on board in June, taking ownership of Beauty @ The Hair Shop and together they are one of the few places in Port Douglas to offer hair and beauty services under the one roof.

Ms Daly has been hairdressing for over 30 years and said they are loving their new location right in the hub of Grant Street.

“We feel like we’re a little bit more in the town here; it has a great new feel and a fresh new look, and our clients are really loving it,” she said.

Ms Daly added as a specialised salon their hair and beauty treatments work hand in hand saving clients time.

“Clients can utilise the full benefits, getting their hair done and a beauty treatment in the one visit.

“We have years of experience and we understand what is needed to ensure your visit is most pleasurable also focusing on the highest quality of service to our clients and visitors understanding their lifestyle and our weather in the tropics,” she said.

Ms Daly said her team’s passion for hair drives them to be ahead in the latest colouring, style cutting, and hair-up styling for any event. From this drive comes exceptional service that Port Douglas locals have been experiencing for over 25 years.

“Other services offered are Keratin and Chemical straightening which is often appreciated to tame hair in our humid climate. Tape hair extensions are another option to create that extra length or thickness.

“Your perfect hair comes from a stylist being able to understand the kind of person you are and the life you lead. A stylist who can educate you on your hair enabling you to have that salon experience every time you leave your home.

“You can be assured you are in safe hands,” Ms Daly said.

Beauty @ The Hair Shop owner, Katie Hatfield, a fully trained skincare and remedial therapist said that along with traditional beauty and massage she is one of the only places in town that specialises in skin treatments.

“I've studied at the Dermal Institute, so I do all the machinery side of beauty as well,” she said.

“My focus is anti-ageing skincare and treatments to alleviate the signs of ageing in the skin as well as skin problems such as acne. I like to educate my clients so they can better understand at home regime also.”

Beauty @ The Hair Shop offers dermaquest facials, peels, IPL laser, microhydrabrasion, LED facials, manicures, pedicures, spray tans, remedial massage and makeup using Inika organic.

Ms Daly added the two of them together make the perfect team to cater for weddings parties, both in the salon or at the wedding location.

“We have a very happy and friendly team environment, that's what we're all about and that's our focus, to make people feel relaxed, happy and walk out of the salon feeling good and looking great,” she said.
