The power is currently out in parts of the Mossman area after a tree came down on the line near Coral Sea Drive at around 12:00pm.

Over 1000 customers lost power in Cassowary, Finlayvale, Mango Park, Mossman, Mossman Gorge, North Mossman, Shannonvale, and South Mossman this afternoon.

However, Ergon Energy crews have managed to get most areas back online with only 52 customers still affected on Coral Sea Drive, Gorge Road, Gorge View Crescent, and Johnston Road.

An Ergon spokesperson said crews are currently working to fix the issue and restore power as soon as possible.

However, an estimated fix time is unknown.

Douglas Shire Council has advised that due to power outages the Mossman Pool has closed for the remainder of the afternoon and will reopen in the morning.
