The local tourism industry has come together after what has been an incredibly hard year, for the Tourism Port Douglas and Daintree (TPDD) and the Tourism Tropical North Queensland (TTNQ) Christmas networking event yesterday.

TPDD CEO, Tara Bennett said it was great to have everyone come together.

“The event was a celebration of not just everyone’s resilience but also how united we are coming out of the toughest year tourism has faced,” she said.

“Sharing the event with TTNQ symbolised the significance of partnerships outside the region to strengthen our industry.

“And it was about coming together to reflect on the year and talk about what is next to come.”

At the event Ken Chapman Chairman of TTNQ conveyed his positive outlook for the region as a whole based on significant funding from federal and state governments and talked of the ability to reposition the region.
