Douglas Heat Basketball have launched women’s social sessions designed to help women and girls in the region learn new skills and stay active.

These gatherings will gauge interest in starting back up a women’s basketball competition in the region.

Heat Coach Nick Gibson said the Monday night games are friendly competitions and workshops for women of all ages.

“It’s a great chance for girls and women of the Douglas Shire to have some fun, and stay and active,” he said.

The social games will take place on Monday nights from 6.00pm at the cyclone shelter at the Port Douglas State School.

Gibson also runs skills and drills from 5.30pm for anyone wanting to learn basketball or brush up on their skills.

Contact Nick Gibson on 0419 022 692 to find out more or simply turn up on the night.
