Man found dead in car three days after remote road crash

A 47 year old man has been found dead three days after his car left the road in Lakeland, about two hours north-west of Port Douglas.

Police believe the vehicle left the road in the early hours of Thursday morning and the man died due to injuries sustained during the crash. 

The man was found deceased in his vehicle at about 2.00pm yesterday in a gully about two kilometres south of the Byrestown Range rest area.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
