In a statement issued by Jungle Surfing, the company said their hearts go out to the family and friends that have been effected by the incident.
“We’re all devastated and shocked by the tragic accident at Jungle Surfing.
“We’re currently prioritising offering support to the family and guests on the tour and to our staff,” the company said.
Jungle Surfing added they will continue to work closely with Work Place Health & Safety to establish the cause of the accident.
“Once they have completed their investigation, we’ll have a clearer picture on what caused the accident. So for now all our tours will be closed until further notice.”
The company will release an official statement once they know more.
