Over 100 unique cars arrived at the Mossman Showgrounds on Saturday for the Mossman Lions Club’s third annual Motoring Expo.

Organising committee member, Graham Butland, said he was impressed with the number and diversity of this year’s entrants.

“It's growing each year in stature and the variety of cars is unbelievable this year,” he said.

“It gives the people of Mossman and the wider Far North community a chance to see a variety of cars together, and there was nothing like this in the Douglas Shire so that's one of the reasons why we decided to hold it each year.

“People come from all over Far North Queensland with their cars and a lot of locals also bring theirs, and it's cars that you wouldn't normally see,” he said.

The event was open to any vehicle, with $10,000 worth of prizes up for grabs across 20 categories such as; best motorbike, best European car, best Japanese car, and best Ford.

Mr Butland said the running of the day was a collaborative effort between the Mossman Lions Club and various community groups, including Cancer Fund, Meals on Wheels, and local emergency service groups.

“We've also got 11 major sponsors, a majority of those are local businesses and without them, we couldn't hold it,” Mr Butland said.
