Four Mile Beach plays backdrop for finale of Crocodile Trophy

South African racer Alan Gordon was on Saturday crowned the overall victor of the 25th Crocodile Trophy which ended on Four Mile Beach.
He claimed the title after winning the 34km individual time trial stage. He clocked a fast stage finish time of 1h25:14, winning by almost one minute.
Michael Gordon from Gladstone finished in fourth on Saturday, but defended his overall second position. Spaniard Brandan Marquez Fernandez pushed himself into third overall with a second place in the final stage in a time of 1h26:24.
Finishing third in 1h27:50 and fourth outright was the four-time stage winner of 2019, Bart Classens, from the Netherlands. Stijn Van Boxstael was fifth outright.
Bram Saeys from Belgium finished fifth in the final stage and claimed the outright amateur race victory this year. Angelika Tazreiter (AUT) was the winning female.
The final stage concluded with an individual time trial from Hartley's Crocodile Adventures via Quaid Road, a pinchy 4.6 km climb before re-entering the thick rainforest and the beautiful single trails of the Twin Bridges track.
The final stretch was then raced on the infamous Bump Track down the escarpment into Port Douglas, where the riders will descend over 400 vm in just 1 km before stopping the clock for the eighth stage of the 25th edition.
