Teen arrested after weekend crime spree

Detectives have charged a 16-year-old boy following a number of property-related offences allegedly committed on properties between Port Douglas and Aloomba, south of Cairns.
Police will allege the youth was involved in a number of burglaries and thefts of vehicles between 26 and 30 November.
Queensland police said the offence relating to the Port Douglas property was a burglary in the early hours of 28 November.
The offender allegedly entered an unlocked apartment and stole two handbags before being disturbed by the resident and fleeing.
Both bags were recovered at the front of the complex with cash missing.
The youth was charged with four counts of burglary, three counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count each of trespassing and entering a premises.
