Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) are monitoring a small vegetation fire burning in Killaloe between Port Douglas and Mossman.
QFES said the fire is on top of the hill adjacent to the Captain Cook Highway and nearby properties may be affected by smoke.
Local auxiliary crews will continue to keep an eye on the fire, but at this stage, there is no threat to life or property.
Hot and dry conditions are expected to remain over the coming days.
QFES are urging residents to exercise extreme caution and not light anything as the unfavourable conditions continue following the out-of-control bush fires burning in Southern Queensland and New South Wales.
Anyone concerned about the threat of fires is advised to call Triple-0 immediately.
