Body found on Wonga Beach Esplanade

UPDATE:

Mossman Police have confirmed they attended the sudden death of a man in his mid-40s at the northern end of the Wonga Beach Esplanade.

Police were notified after a member of the public came across the body in the early hours of this morning.

Mossman Police said they do not believe there were any suspicious circumstances surrounding the discovery.

Police could not provide any further details and will now prepare a report for the coroner.


EARLIER:


A man’s body was found by a member of the public early this morning on the Wonga Beach esplanade.

Queensland police confirmed they responded to a call at 5.20am and found a deceased male at the scene. They believe he died as a result of self-harm.

Police are still on the scene along with the Criminal Investigation Branch.
