Douglas Netball round three results and player awards

The 2019 Douglas netball season continued on Tuesday night with round three.
In the first of the junior games, Miallo came out firing, defeating Port 16 – 7.
Nicola Lane played an impressive game, awarded both best and fairest and players’ choice, with Kandice Martinelli also receiving players’ choice.
Next, in the Panthers and Dynamites match the Panthers were too strong on the night taking the win 28 – 13.
Best and fairest went to Alannah McNally and players choices’ were Bayahn Aston-Dilan and Niamh Zillfleisch.
Then the Young Sapphires took on the Strikers and after an even first quarter, the Sapphires took off in the second and held the lead to the end to win 32 – 9.
Best and fairest went to Brooke Harold and players choices’ were Saskia Booth and Kandice.
In the senior’s division one, Jets 1 were too strong for Crocs 1, taking the win 43 – 17.
Best and fairest was awarded to Kristin Ramsey and players choices’ were Melissa Mussett and Rylie Jabornik.
In division two the Drifters versus Crocs 2 game saw a strong first quarter set the crocs up for a solid lead. Despite what looked like the beginning of a comeback from the Drifters, it wasn’t enough with the Crocs taking the win 42 – 31.
Best and fairest went to Julianne Watkinson and players choices’ were Renae Shapter and Bonnie Rylands.
Lastly, Jets 2 went up against the Young Diamonds and after a hard fought game the Diamonds came out on top 32 – 20.
Best and fairest was Ruby Woods who also received players choice along with Bella Mussett.
