Douglas Netball association’s round six saw the Young Guns and the Cougars battle it out in division one, in a hard-fought, tension-filled match.


Impressive shooting from the Cougars kept them in the match however; it wasn’t enough with the Young Guns holding on to take the win 36 – 22, remaining undefeated this season.

Best and fairest went to Jemma McEwan who also received players’ choice along with Brianna Higgins.

In division two the Young Diamonds took on Jets 2 in a close match that saw the Diamonds get away in the third term before the jets came back in the fourth. 

In the end, it wasn’t enough to catch them, with the Diamonds winning, 26 – 23.

Best and fairest was Jessica Shapter while players’ choices’ were Amy Davidson and Brigitte Mynott.

Then, in the Crocs 2 versus Drifters match the Drifters put up a good fight but it wasn’t enough to keep up with the Crocs, final score, 32- 22.

Players’ choices were Laura McHugh and Sharni Thomas.

In the junior competition, the Dynamites took on the Panthers in a fast-paced game that saw the Panthers get out to an early lead.

Despite a late comeback by the Dynamites, it wasn’t enough with the Panthers winning 36 – 24.

Impressive intercepts by Addison Ramsey saw here awarded players’ choice along with Niamh Zillfleisch, while best and fairest went to Bayahn Aston-Dilan.

In the Port versus Miallo Allstars match, great ball skills were displayed all around however; the Allstars were stronger on the day winning 21 – 2.

Best and fairest was awarded to Niav Catter and players’ choices went to Kandice Martinelli and Mahana Davis.

Lastly, the Young Sapphires were too strong for the Strikers, winning 35 - 7.

Bets and fairest went to Hazel Kitto and players’ choices were Piper Ottone and Jasmine Davidson.
