Douglas Netball Association round twelve kicked off with the junior competition in which Port took on the Miallo Allstars in a close match.

The high winds made for difficult shooting conditions but Port were able to push on to take the win, 9-7.

Players’ choices were Niav Cotter and Alex Ziesler and best and fairest went to Freya Adams.

The Dynamite and Panthers game saw both teams came out strong however, the Panthers took off with the lead to win 19 – 13.

Best and fairest was awarded to Caitlin Nulty while players’ choices also went to Caitlin Nulty and Alexis Rich.

Miallo School High then went up against the Young Sapphires in another close match that saw the Sapphires take the win with the final score being 21-18.

Players’ choices were Andie Heidke and Tahlia Barnes while best and fairest was also awarded to Tahlia Barnes.

In the senior’s division one this week there was only one game with the Cougars taking on Young Guns. It was a tough fight with Young Guns coming out on top 47-26.

Players’ choices were Georgia McCarthy and Kirsty Mackay while best and fairest was awarded to Jay Heidke.

In the Crocs 2 and Drifters match the Drifters took the lead early and despite their best efforts they failed to keep the lead with Crocs 2 coming back in the last quarter taking the win 31-25.

Players’ choices were Ameila Walker and Tahlia Blain and best and fairest went to Hineida Shortland.

In the second division, the Young Diamonds took on Jets 2 in a very close game at half time.

A strong final quarter from the Diamonds saw them just get home ahead of the Jets 2 to win 40-28.

Players’ choices were Sophia Cullen and Saskia Booth and best and fairest went to Ella Cairns.
