A suspected stolen truck was lit on fire and halted traffic on the Captain Cook Highway between Wangetti and Ellis Beach this morning.
A Queensland Police spokesperson said they do not believe the truck was involved in an accident but rather was deliberately set alight.
Emergency Services were called to the Captain Cook Highway near the intersection of Rifle Range Road at about 4.20 this morning.
The blazing truck was parked across the highway and was blocking traffic in both directions.
A QFES spokesperson said only one crew of firefighters attended and the fire was out about and hour after they arrived.
It took another half an hour for a tow truck to arrive but traffic was flowing on the highway again by about 6.50am.
