A 39-year-old Wujul Wujul woman has been charged over her alleged involvement in the theft of a Hiace van from Edge Hill on 2 December.

The van, along with a boat and trailer, was first stolen from the marina in Port Douglas on 10 December 2018.

The boat and trailer have since been located at an abandoned vacant property at Kewarra Beach in late December.

Police also found an esky containing a large amount of fishing equipment with the stolen boat.

However, the van has not yet been recovered and police are seeking the public’s assistance to find it after it was unlawfully taken from the Edge Hill address.

The white Toyota Hiace camper was bearing South Australian registration S872AFM when it was stolen.

Police believe that some lettering on the vehicle has been removed to change its appearance.

Meanwhile, the Wujal Wujal woman was charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, failing to appear and possession of drugs.

She is scheduled to re-appear in the Cairns Magistrates court on 1 March, 2019.
