Theatre company's new learning paths for Girl's Academy

Students at the Cape York Girl Academy in Wangetti will benefit from a new program facilitiated by the JUTE theatre company over the next 12 months.
The program, will equip high school students from across the Far North, Torres Strait Islands and Northern Territory with skills to think creatively, work as a team and build confidence.
Facilitated by theatre industry professionals, Mark Sheppard and Taeg Twist, students from 12 years to 18 years will be participating in weekly, two-hour workshops.
The workshops will cover creative theatre elements such as improvisation and clowning, photography and props, music narrative and performance, and playwriting.
JUTE Theatre Company’s Creative Producer Yvette Walker said the program will help inspire students to think differently and discover new avenues for learning.
“Next week the students are very excited to welcome their first special guests for the year,” Ms Walker said.
“Actors Nazaree Dickerson and Alexis West both have close connections to JUTE Theatre’s as performers in Dare to Dream’s past projects, Proppa Solid and Bukal.
“This is a really important week for the students and one that I know they will gain a lot from, be inspired and no doubt, enjoy.”
