A 19-year-old man from Cooktown has been arrested and charged with supply of dangerous drugs.

Police caught the man when a vehicle in which he was a passenger was pulled over on Endeavour Valley Road in Cooktown on Wednesday afternoon.

When police searched the man, they found he was carrying a sum of cash as well as a mobile phone police determined was used to deal drugs.

He was further charged with possession of property suspected of proceeds of offence and possession of property suspected of being used in the commission of an offence.

He is expected to appear in the Cooktown Magistrates Court on Thursday, 7 March.
