Emergency services attended another crash on the Captain Cook Highway between Port Douglas and Cairns today.

Ambulance, Fire and Rescue, and Police were called to the incident near Balancing Rocks on the border of Ellis Beach and Wangetti just before 2.00pm today.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said the sole male occupant of the vehicle was transported to Cairns hospital in a stable condition.

Traffic was briefly halted on the highway as services worked to clear the wrecked vehicle but normal traffic flow has since resumed.

The exact circumstances of the incident are unknown but Newsport understands the car left the road and collided with a tree.

Motorists are urged to drive to the conditions and take care on the Captain Cook Highway, especially with residual water on the road.
