A Cairns man and a Port Douglas woman have been charged with theft offences after stealing a bike and a pressure cleaner from a Port Douglas resort.

The 22 year-old man and 24-year-old woman were charged yesterday after being found with the stolen goods at a property in Edmonton.

It will be alleged the pair were in a ute when they entered a storage area at a Mitre Street resort property just before 8.00pm on Friday night.

It is further alleged that they loaded a bicycle and a pressure cleaner into the utility before driving from the location.

Both are scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court later this morning.
