The Douglas squad of the Marlin Coast Netball region was treated to a training session over the weekend with former Australian diamonds players.
100 academy players and coaches had the chance to work with guest high performance coaches Vicki Wilson and Jill McIntosh.
Vicki Wilson is a former Australian Diamonds captain and current Fiji coach and former Australian player.
Jill McIntosh is a former Diamonds player and world champion winning Diamonds coach.
The two guest coaches ran training drills and helped players and coaches gain valuable skills to improve their netball techniques.
Saturday’s session was held at the Mossman Indoor centre and involved players, coaches, and umpires from Douglas and Tablelands academy squads.
The weekend sessions will be the culmination of the academy program and players will now be preparing for their club finals at all associations coming up in August/September.
