Country sensation flies further north than ever before

Port Douglas is the next stop for Country Folk singer Tristen Bird and the furthest North he has ever ventured on an extensive career of touring.
Tristen will be hitting the stage this Thursday at Paddy's Irish Pub as part of a winter tour, that has included stops from Perth to Far North Queensland with detours to Tasmania and Adelaide.
Currently working on songs for his third record, Tristen will be featuring some new tracks as well as songs from his Nashville produced 2018 album Yonder Comes The Sun.
On stage he leads a journey through the Australian countryside, introducing many eclectic characters along the way. More Hank Williams than Clint Eastwood, Tristen shares his stories with the audience in a sincere and emotive manner
“For me it’s the audience and the road that inspire me. I’m driven to create a conversation through music when I perform and it’s that connection and interaction with an audience that means the most to me.
Yonder Comes The Sun, became a labour of love for Bird that was created over multiple studios in two countries with the help of major Nashville producer Matt Andrews.
Tristen forged international recording connections after performing in the US at the invitation of Sounds Australia, an organisation that works to raise the profile of Australian music internationally.
Tristen recorded some tracks for the album in Alabama's infamous Muscle Shoals, a mecca for recording artists, and a historical pilgrimage for bands including The Rolling Stones, Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett, Willie Nelson and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
When asked about recording in such hallowed halls, Tristen describes the experience as “in one word frightening! It took the first day just to get over the people and the things that happened in those places, after that I really sank into the feel of the spaces and they definitely have an energy, a sound, a feeling”.
Wandering the country, covering thousands of kilometres this year alone, the Melbourne based artist describes life on the road glowingly.
“I love touring and the people and places that I get to meet, we’re so lucky here in Australia, it’s beautiful.”
