The body of a 24-year-old blond and slim built Cairns woman has been found at the end of Wangetti Beach, 800m north of the southern carpark, Cairns police confirmed today.

Senior Constable Russell Parker, from Cairns Police, told Newsport that the woman had been walking with her ‘large’ dog, and had then gone missing. She was later discovered as well as the dog, who was fine.

“We are treating this as a homicide, we have set up a crime scene and investigations are ongoing. We are appealing to anyone to come forward who may have any information,” said Parker.
