Port Douglas plays host to Inbound Up North
PORT DOUGLAS TOURISM
PORT Douglas has been the focal point as North Queensland’s tourism industry kicked off one of its biggest and longest running B2B (business-to-business) events last week with more than 100 industry representatives attending events over three days.
??“The success of Inbound Up North (IUN) is growing by the year and this year we will see 50 travel industry buyers meeting with more than 50 leading tourism products and experiences from North Queensland,” said ATEC Managing Director Peter Shelley.?
“IUN puts these North Queensland tourism export businesses directly in front of the inbound tour operators and online travel agents which sell their products in more than 40 markets across the world, making it an invaluable opportunity for these businesses.
??“Promoting products to the buyers who are responsible for developing travel itineraries for the international visitor market is vital to the success of local tourism businesses and this event helps to keep these businesses top of mind and extend their connection with the international market.”
ATEC North Queensland Branch Chair and Director of Sales the Pullman Reef Hotel Casino, Louise Matthews, welcomed tourism buyers to the region for the 19th IUN event, which were held across a range of venues in Port Douglas with B2B workshops held at the QT Hotel.??
“The value of being able to host these important inbound market decision makers in our destination is that they get to experience first-hand the strength of offering North Queensland has to offer the world,” she said.??
IUN event is organised by the North Queensland branch of the Australian Tourism Export Council (ATEC), in collaboration with our major partners: Tourism & Events Queensland & Qantas, Tourism Tropical North Queensland and Tourism Port Douglas Daintree (TPDD).
