Police investigating Toyah Cordingley’s murder have released footage of 69 vehicles of interest that were on the Cook Highway the day Toyah was killed.

The numbered cars in the video below are yet to be registered with police so they can be ruled in or out of the investigation.

The vehicles were captured travelling south on the Captain Cook Highway near Clifton Road between 5.02pm and 5.07pm on Sunday, 21 October.

Police are urging anyone who recognises any vehicle in the video to contact police to register with investigators.

Detective Inspector Sonia Smith said information garnered from the community involvement in the investigation has been a great help to police.

“Thanks to the community for the tremendous amount to support provided to police during this investigation,” she said.

“Every piece of information is vital to our investigation and it may only take one more piece of information to identify the offender.

“We are looking for any information to be able to progress this investigation.”

Inspector Smith said police are still well-resourced for this investigation and they have been heartened by the community support.

“We are continuing to work around the clock on this case and are processing hundreds of pieces of information with many vehicles in the area already identified,” she said.

“The investigation team is now appealing for the drivers of these vehicles to come forward and register their details with police so we can speak to them as part of our inquires and expand our list of potential witnesses in the area.”

Last week police and SES crews conducted a search in an area around Caravonica and Lake Placid but are urging anyone in that area on the day Toyah was killed to come forward.

“We’ve concluded the physical search of that area but appeal if anyone saw anything suspicious on Sunday afternoon, 21 October in that area to come forward.”
