A Port Douglas woman missing since the weekend has been found safe.
Madeleine Daly, 47, was reported missing on Saturday, 27 October, but was found today at about 6.45am on the Port Douglas Raod.
Newsport understands Ms Daly was found by a council worker who knew Ms Daly’s family.
As Ms Daly was being treated by healthcare professionals, sister Jillian Daly said Madeleine was in the best possible care.
“She is unwell but I believe she was uninjured and is now on her way to the hospital,” Jillian Daly said.
“It’s a relief she’s been found but I’m still a bit shaken up by the whole thing.”
Port Douglas Police Sergeant Damian Meadows extend his thanks to the community for their support in helping locate Ms Daly.
“We got a lot of information from the public overnight which lead us to believe she was still in the Port Douglas region,” he said.
“A big thank you to everyone who provided us with information that helped us locate Ms Daly.”
