POLICE will prepare a report for the Coroner following the death of a man at Cid Harbour yesterday.

Preliminary information indicates the 33-year-old Victorian man was with friends on a charter boat when he went paddle boarding and then swimming and was bitten by a shark at around 5.30pm.

Two people on a nearby vessel realising what had occurred utilised their tender boat to collect the injured man from the water and transport him back to the nearby charter boat.

The man was then relayed to the shore before being transported to Mackay Hospital where he later passed away.

Two tourists — a 46-year-old woman and a 12-year-old girl — were attacked in separate incidents in CID Harbour in September.
