Local businesses have the chance to snag some government funding thanks to the Queensland Small Business Entrepreneur Grants.

The latest round of funding applications opened on Thursday, 15 November with $5,000 grants up for grabs for businesses with fewer than 20 employees to be reimbursed for professional consultancy.

Minister for Employment and Small Business Shannon Fentiman said the grants provide a solid foundation for local businesses to grow from.

“We know that from small things, big things grow and a strong small business sector means a growing economy that delivers even more jobs,” she said.

“The Palaszczuk Government continues to support our small businesses to succeed and reach their goals.

“The funding can be used for professional advice and support for business planning, marketing strategy development, as well as social media and digital strategies, research, mentoring and coaching.”

“I encourage Queensland small businesses who are looking for that extra boost to kickstart their business to apply.”

Round four applications close at 5pm on Thursday, 13 December 2018.
