THE three-year plan to re-build the Port Douglas Reef Raiders rugby union team has begun and coach Dave Pearse is not overly concerned with Saturday‘s 50-17 loss to Southside at the Sports Complex.

“We are in the building stage. We did not have a team last year and I am confident over the next three years, we will be back on the map,” he said.

“Saturday’s result does not worry me, and I am full of praise for the players who never gave up.”

Southside led 7-0 at the break before putting a gap between the two in the second half.
