Wonderland Spiegeltent once again proved to be one of the most popular events at this Carnivale opening May 18 and leading into the main festivities seven days later.
More than 3,000 patrons soaked in Rouge the show, Circus Wonderland, Akmal Salah and the late night burlesque.
“Wow.” That appeared to be the most popular comment from most as they left any one of the shows.
Melissa Head, Director of Wonderland Entertainment and Leisure, was delighted she could again bring Wonderland Spiegeltent to Port Douglas along with its many benefits.
“Spiegeltent was a huge success. The reports and feedback from the attendees was both positive and amazing. There were many happy faces coming out of Wonderland Spiegeltent.
“We already have some great plans in place for 2019 should we be invited back to participate in the event,” she said.
Melissa said Wonderland Spiegeltent plans to bring an all-star new line up of shows next year for families, the much-loved cabaret style along with community free events.
“Another highlight and a first for Port Douglas will be The Skyflyer, which will soar 35 metres over the Spiegeltent and provide visitors with a great view of the Dixie inlet.
“Wonderland will also be investing in a lighting activation to enhance our visitors experience in the Spiegeltent hub along with a sideshow tent where you can get up close to various performers,” said Melissa.
Fans went to Social Media to comment:
Tanya Maree Hipworth:
Rouge - amazing, fun filled show that kept me on the edge of my seat, wondering if I would laugh or gasp. Amazingly talented and friendly performers who blew me away. Definitely recommend. Thanks for making my first night out in 7 years a spectacular one.
Samantha Harding:
5 Stars. We had a ball, completely entertained. My favourite was the girl on the oversized hoop … really moving performance … just beautiful. Seriously, the whole night had us glued, laughing, gasping, tearful, all senses engaged, that includes taste buds with the Sex in FOUR MILE BEACH COCKTAIL!!!
“Our thanks go to the Douglas Shire community for our return to Port Douglas along with all of our sponsors" she said.
