The 21-year-old woman, who went missing after the Carnivale Street Parade on Macrossan Street on Friday, has been found.

Police have confirmed that Breanna Anges Phillips, also known as Baberton, has returned to Dougies Backpackers in excellent condition and with a new boyfriend.

Ms Phillips was last seen at approximately 7:30pm on Friday at the Parade. She was a member of the Backpackers’ float and was dressed as a pirate.

Ms Phillips resides at Dougies Backpackers in Port Douglas and it is believed that in recent times she has been travelling alone.

According to Sgt Damian Meadows, Officer in Charge, Port Douglas Police, the woman is “very much in love and happy. Her parents have also been contacted and we are delighted that she has been found.”

Sgt Meadows has thanked the Newsport and community for quickly sharing the 'missing person' call out.
