A MOSSMAN woman was charged yesterday following police investigations into a number of recent incidents.

The 34-year-old was taken into custody at a Bungalow address at around 4am yesterday.

She was a person of interest in relation to a number of alleged matters including the theft of a washing machine and fraudulent sale of goods to a Cairns second hand goods dealer in August and September last year. She is also accused of fuel theft offences at Craiglie and Westcourt in January this year.

It is also alleged she had an uncapped syringe amongst her possessions at the Cairns police station yesterday.

The woman was subsequently charged with three counts each of stealing, two counts of fraud, and one count each of receiving tainted property and failing to properly dispose of a syringe.

She is expected to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on April 9.
