A STATEWIDE manhunt has begun into the suspected murder of a 16-year-old girl found in a barrel on the back of a ute yesterday.

Detectives have released an image of 34-year-old Zlatki Sikorsky (below) who they wish to speak to in relation to the grisly find, but are urging people not to approach him.

It’s believed he may be carrying firearms and is travelling in a silver 2014 Holden Commodore, with a sunroof, with registration 966 WKB.

“Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is urged not to approach him but to contact police immediately,” a police spokesperson said today.

It follows the discovery of a body in the back of a utility at a property in Stapylton late yesterday afternoon, after police tracked the vehicle from an address in Buccan.

The body is yet to be formally identified.

Police were led to the address through investigations into missing teenager Larissa Beilby, who was last seen in the coastal Brisbane suburb of Sandgate.

The girl was reported missing on June 15 and was last seen at an address on Kempster Road. It’s believed she was with a man.

Logan CIB Detective Acting Inspector Scott Furlong confirmed today Sikorsky was known to Ms Beilby but would not comment any further in relation to the discovery of the body.

Crime scenes were established at the Stapylton and Buccan addresses overnight as police commenced forensic examinations.

An investigation centre has been established at Logan Central Police Station.
