POLICE have released CCTV footage of fatal hit and run victim Michael Bowden’s final moments.
The 20-year-old was killed in Weipa on Saturday night and investigators are renewing their appeal for information.
Mr Bowden was fatally injured after he was struck by a vehicle on Northern Avenue around 3am.
Detectives are hoping somebody in the Weipa township has information that could assist the investigation and help get closure for his family.
“Police would particularly like to speak with anyone who travelled along Northern Avenue between midnight and 3am yesterday,’ a police spokesperson said.
“Anyone who may have been driving in the Weipa township around that time and who has a dash-cam is also urged to come forward.
“Members of the community are being reminded to be on the lookout for any vehicles which may have been freshly damaged.”
The Forensic Crash Unit, Scenes of Crime officers and detectives are continuing to investigate.
