All you need to know about Sunday's Cairns Ironman

THE Central Hotel will act as a live site on Sunday as the Cairns Ironman cycles into Port Douglas.
The Macrossan Street pub will host an outside broadcast featuring a sports commentator and music on the bike course as the cycling leg passes through town.
The Ironman is the feature event of the annual Cairns Adventure Festival.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Several road closures will affect Port Douglas during the event.
Motorists will still be able to access the Coles Express Service Station at Craiglie via the northern entry on Sunday.
AIRPORT TRANSFERS
People needing to catch a flight from Cairns Airport between 10am and 6pm on Sunday are encouraged to give themselves plenty of time to catch their flights.
Bus and shuttle services will still operate to Cairns on Sunday via the Mulligan Highway and Kennedy Highway, although passengers are asked to allow up to five hours to get to Cairns.
A better option may be using a boat shuttle available from Port Douglas to Cairns via the Quicksilver’s Silversonic, which will be operating on Sunday. See prices and a timetable below:

Arrive Cairns: 8:30am, 3:45pm
Depart Cairns: 8:45am, 4:15pm
Arrive Port Douglas: 10:30am, 5:45pm
COST: Adult $25, Child $10 (4-11 years old), Infant - free (under 4 years)

PARKING AND EVENT CLEARWAYS
Special clearways will be enforced along Macrossan St and Davidson St. Please check signs before parking as vehicles will be towed and fines may apply.
