POLICE have thanked the Far North Queensland community for helping to locate a family of campers in Cape York yesterday.
A family emergency prompted a search for the family, who were on a four-wheel drive trip in the Cape York Peninsula.
“The family were located by a Park Ranger at a Cape York camp ground yesterday afternoon, and a message was passed on,” a police spokesperson said.
“They have now made contact with family members in the south-east corner of the state.”
