THE Mighty Mossman Show always seems to bring out the best in the community.

With just days until the annual festival, secretary Ann Baldwin said there had been more than 100 volunteers giving up their time to help with preparations.

“It is incredible, you don’t see these people all year but rest assured at show time they all arrive to assist,” she said.

“It’s amazing, really.”

This year’s show will take place on Sunday and Monday July 22-23 and include all the carnival favourites.

Show entries have been coming in ‘thick and fast’ with deadlines for all categories almost expired.

The photography, arts and crafts categories closed at 4pm today, while poultry, cage birds and guinea pig entrants have until 4pm tomorrow.

Entries for the metal work categories will end at 2pm Friday.

“People are reminded to put get their entry forms in as soon as possible or they’ll leave disappointed,” Ann said.

“Once we receive the entries we then have to catalogue them, put stickers on them and so on. It’s a lot of work so we must close the entries to give us time.”

Tickets sales have been strong across the two days with kids ‘big and small’ too be catered for ‘with all the classic rides’, according to Ann.

“It’s going to be fun for the entire family,” she said.

The Secretary’s Office is open from 9am until 4pm. The show has accepted entries for the following categories:

 - Agriculture and Horticulture
 - Culinary
 - Needlework
 - Arts 'n' craft
 - Photography
 - Equestrian
 - Guinea pigs
