Teen charged after alleged assault and robbery of Kuranda woman

A TEENAGE boy has been arrested following investigations into the robbery and assault of a 47-year-old woman at Kuranda on Sunday.
The victim sustained bruising to her face and arm after she was allegedly pushed to the ground and struck in the face a number of times by the 16 year-old Manoora teen.

The woman was walking onto a trail towards Rotary Park when she was allegedly approached by the boy.
Following a brief discussion, she turned to walk back towards the road. It will be further alleged the man followed her and pushed her to the ground before punching her a number of times in the face and grabbing her handbag.
The teenager has been charged with one count of robbery.
