WATCH
POLICE have released shocking footage of an incident which saw them draw guns on a man during a car chase in Townsville.
Officers confronted a man after he allegedly drove dangerously on the wrong side of the road, with a blown tyre, before smashing into a petrol station’s glass doors and ramming police, all with his three kids in the car.
In the dramatic video, officers can be heard screaming ‘show us your hands mate’ and ‘he’s got kids in the car’ before the 36-year-old, who was high on drugs, speeds off.
He then turns back towards police and charges them.
“He is going to ram us,” one officer can be heard saying before they narrowly avoid a collision.

The man then rammed the passenger side of the police vehicle after re-entering the petrol station at around 3am.
Officers were stunned to learn he had two boys, aged 11 and two, unrestrained in the front passenger seat and a five-year-old girl on his lap during the ordeal.
All three children were transported to hospital for observation. It’s believed they escaped injury.
The 36-year-old Peeramon man was denied bail and remanded in custody to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court today charged with 23 offences.
