A WOMAN has tragically died overnight after being hit by a car in Cairns.
Police believe the47-year-old woman walked in front of vehicle on Sheridan Street just after 8pm last night.

She was rushed to Cairns Hospital but passed away her injuries.
Police are appealing for anyone who was travelling in the area at the time to contact them. Anyone with relevant dash cam vision is also asked to contact police.
Investigations are continuing.
