THE hunt continues for a parcel of land to accommodate the animal refuge shelter, Paws and Claws.
“There is nothing available and this is extremely frustrating. We must move forward but we are continually asking what else can we do,” said Michael Kerr, president of Paws and Claws.

"The state government wants to be able to have the fund contribution finalised to us by the end of the financial year with a contract to acquit once a purchase is completed.
"If the current concept we are working on isn’t able to go ahead, the committee will need to consult with council and the planning scheme on how we can put an application in to divide 5 acres of cane farmer land as it will be the last option we have.
“We have few choices and we’re at a point where we have to look at every option available."
Paws and Claws was originally located in Craiglie but had to leave after the owners of the land began work on a service station.
