THE Bureau of Meteorology has issued a fresh flood warning for Daintree Village and Mossman with water levels expected to peak around 10pm tonight.

Minor flood levels will continue rising on the Daintree River at Daintree Village with a peak expected by late Tuesday evening, it is being reported.

It's believed more than 400mm has also inundated the road at Saltwater Creek near Bamboo.

"It appears bitumen may have also been stripped off the road. It is unsafe to drive in that area until further notice," Douglas Shire Council stated via Facebook.
