Port Douglas’ famous Wildlife Habitat is hosting a family fun day to give everyone a chance to meet the park’s new koala joey Marri.

Marri Day will see the Wildlife Habitat come alive with excitement and activities to welcome the park’s newest inhabitant.

Assistant Manager at Wildlife Habitat, Sybella Salter, said Marri Day is a great reason for locals to visit the world-class attraction in their own backyard.

“We’ve got our new little Koala joey Marri; she is 12 months old and has come to us from Perth Zoo,” she said.

“Marri Day is a fantastic opportunity for everyone to meet Marri and enjoy all the fun Wildlife Habitat has to offer.”

Ms Salter is urging everyone to come to the park on Saturday, 29 December to join in the fun of Marri Day.

“Come down and get involved,” she said.

“Meet Marri, get a photo with one of the other koalas, we’ve got gift bag giveaways for the first few people into the park, a craft activity area, Wattle the park’s koala ambassador will also be around the park.”
