THERE are reports two suspected asylum seekers have been apprehended as they made their way towards the Daintree Ferry.

Police are currently searching vehicles making their way across the ferry from the rainforest.

It comes as the search for at least 20 people, also suspected asylum seekers, continues this morning in the thicket of the Daintree Rainforest.

It’s believed 11 people have already been detained after a foreign vessel made its way into Queensland waters yesterday.

The missing people are said to have fled after hitting a remote beach near Cape Kimberley. It’s believed they may be hiding on the crocodile-dense mangroves.

The Australian Border Force and police are on hand for what appears to be the first illegal boat to hit Australian waters for four years.

The Department of Foreign Affairs spokesperson have only stated that the boat is an "illegal fishing vessel.”
